Our Ethos
We are a group of volunteers who believe that beside the national and international environmental laws and policies targeting climate change,
people as individuals can make a great impact too.
There are a range of actions a person can take range including sorting and recycling waste, composting, sourcing energy from carbon-neutral suppliers,
moving towards a plant-based diet and.... Planting and growing trees.

The scale of tree planting may vary depending on different factors; however, the deciding factor is usually the size and location of the area available.
People who live in highly populated area can still grow tree saplings from seeds on their balcony, or even indoors on windowsills or in natural light.
Those who have access to a garden have a greater opportunity to grow more saplings and plant them directly into the ground and care for them as the mature.
If neither of these options are available, individuals could join a local environmental group and organise a tree planting event for volunteers.

When planned on a larger scale, such as starting a nursery in a larger garden or on agricultural lands,
it is necessary to research what tree species grow local to that area as they will have the best chance of success as well as benefitting local wildlife.
In order to minimize the risk of spreading pathogens that cause diseases, best practice is to source the tree seeds, cuttings or water sprouts from local trees.
When buying seeds or small saplings online it is essential to ensure the supplier has a valid certification confirming good health of their trees.
In the UK, the most commonly used certifications are Plant Healthy / Grown in Britain, UK & Ireland Sourced and Grown and Defra schemes
which provide suppliers with Plant Passports, allowing their distribution. Plant Healthy and Grown in Britain are recognisable by their distinct logos.
